Regarding any male who claims "self-id" as female - Edie wrote - ("a girl or woman is legally obliged to assume that man is free of male pattern violence and male pattern sexual deviance. Any suggestion that he is not, could be a hate crime."). This incredibly important point cannot be made too often or proclaimed too loudly!

The recent experiences in Spain where male domestic violence perpetrators immediately used the new self-id law to "identify as female" so they could seek access to the same domestic violence shelter as their victim - may be the most mind bending example one could ever imagine.

It's mind bendingly predictable that sociopathic men will follow this course of action if they perceive it to be in their own interests, though.

Concise and effective summation of the GC position, very well said Edie. Also a useful source document for anyone who is wondering what it actually means to be critical of gender identity, especially in light of the defamation suits brought against Pesutto.

This is so much like the situation in Canada it’s scary. One is inclined to think there’s an international agenda and timetable.

You've touched upon a subject I have been cracking my head over for ages - why don't the conservatives take this issue and run with it all the way to the bank... I am not a conservative mind you but at the very least their opposition would take the edge off the gender jacobins on the left and moderate their policies. With the Liberals in the deep wilderness in Victoria the ALP is running riot with their woke projects.

I've been following the fortunes of MoiraD and was hoping she'd hang in there and somehow shame the Lib leadership into at least opening debate about this subject. The right's suspicious silence on the subject really needs deeper investigation. I get the right wing homophobic angle (prefer a fausse-daughter to a gay son etc) but its too far fetched to believe that is all there is to it. Are that many conservative men wearing frilly knickers under their business suits?

It's misogyny and homophobia for sure, and the blindness they cause to the humanity of women and homosexuals.

The text for today is Edie Wyatt’s essay on the dangers of overweening governments supporting the elimination of the rights os women & girls. This piece should be read out in every church, school, university, community group & library. It’s no good expecting the politicians to go against the current; we women have to force the cultural change by every means at our disposal, starting with the children most at risk. I despair of the women who are going along with this; why can’t they see the danger to children?

A marvellous article, Edie. Thank you 🙏 Will post on X

When you state " The evidence that gender identity policy, legislation and medicine is materially harmful to women, gays, lesbians, and children, is overwhelming"....please, please can I implore you and other GCs to include in that group recognition of autistic people. As Hannah Barnes and other sources have pointed out, when tested around 40% of gender confused children register somewhere on the Autistic Spectrum.

In the community autistics comprise around 3% of the general population.

I certainly try to mention people on the Autistic spectrum where it is relevant but here I am talking about the conflict of protected characteristics, I do later talk about people with disabilities as a protected characteristic, and how exposed they are without their sex protection.
