Well put. I still see economic democracy as the brass ring of social and labor organizing, but it’s hard to focus on when faux progressives have lost their minds with gender woo. Yet with Nancy Mace et al I feel a shift in American politics, like a thaw on free speech. Hope I’m right.

beautifully and sensitively written Edie.

You outlined a problem that so many of us now "homeless lefties" encounter daily and into the future...trying to convince those hanging on to their old sentimental version of progressive politics that everything is different.

This is my current normie resistance action -

I have flyers about the dangers of transsexual ideology to put out amongst the ones about the art!

Fortunately I live in a rural community where the vast majority of the community are conservative and very literally grounded. Belief that mammals can change sex is a hard sell in this place where animal husbandry is a main industry.

That looks like an 'women inclusive' exhibition I would love to visit! A bit far from Melbourne. But this looks amazing! I've shared this on X. Thank you for taking a stand and showing it. xx

Thankyou Margo. It is a solo exhibition showing 15 of my latest works. In the promo brochure I also describe it as "a series of paintings celebrating the beauty of the female figurative". The 2 local public galleries I've had exhibitions in over the last 12 years wouldn't show it because of the political nature of the statement. It took the Upper Hunter Arts Network 3 weeks of discussion and legal consultation before deciding to risk going ahead and publishing the information. It's entirely possible there may be complaints and we'll deal with whatever (or not) arises, but I'm elated to call it a little punch on the nose of the genderista at this stage.

Well in the process of those 3 weeks of discussions, many people involved in that would have gone through a steep awareness curve. And having to seek legal consultation! But good on them deciding to not cancel or silence you or sabotage your art career as a well established artist. I just love your last paragraph! And I love your art. You're a Cosmic Pearl for sure :))

Thank you for a pleasant memory of my mum, now passed away. She spent the swinging 60s living in Prague and I fell in love with the city from hearing all her stories during my childhood. I come from just over the border and its invariably called "Golden Prague" (Złota Praga).

But I disagree about the single issue - there are so many in the same "they abandoned us" bucket. I'm not sure what to call it - "Bourgeois Leftism"? Gender ideology is the most visible component because it most blatantly demands denial of reality.

I think the most revealing feature of this article is how strongly Edie is tied to the identity "leftist". They can blatantly destroy the social contract and yet that programmed labelling "leftist" is still there. Why? This is the main reason why they have gotten away with this... the fact most people have been programmed with a cultural expectation that left = good guys, therefore they can do whatever they want & we will still loyally line up to vote. Not any more - see Trump 2024.

Nonsense I haven’t voted left for almost ten years. You’ve mixed me up with someone else.

Maybe I mixed you up with your family... But why did you hang on so long? Their abandonment of their core constituency took place I'd say 3+ decades ago, although I admit the alternative wasn't great.

None of your business, I vote for who I vote for. Also, the conservatives are often shocking misogynists. They have improved, but slowly. And I'm not conservatives, I'm politically left that's my leaning, we are not all drones.

It sounds like you had a great trip. My immediate family can disagree on politics and still get along, but I've had a few cousins stop talking to me. I'm in the middle and for Progressives in the US, that apparently makes me a fascist.

I heard you talk a bit about your trip to the UK (via Canada!) with Kit. And yes you looked jet lagged. Lovely to read about your impressions and interactions with familiars. And a side trip to Prague! I'm glad you're back safe and sound and in one piece ready to take on the next stage of asserting our rights. xx

Dear Edie. Have I done anything to offend you or anything else? Just noticed you have blocked me on X! Why? Please tell me. baubo60/Margo
