The political atmosphere in Victoria has changed significantly since these events (I attended). Then Pesutto was in the dumps with the Libs in the true wilderness, but since then Dan Andrews is gone, the state loaded up with debt that would have given Joan Kirner nightmares and the new Premier struggling. Libs are now near parity in the polls and this lawsuit is a real spanner in the works for them - he should have apologised and tracked back after jumping the gun.

I'm not historically a Lib voter but if they took on the issue seriously and supported Moira instead they could have an election edge by running on it. The self-id law needs repealing asap.

Moira Deeming and Angie Jones are heroines.

Pessuto is such a cringey little worm.

Is he actually still leader of the Victorian opposition? The only time I ever heard anything about him and the opinions of his sad little minions, was when they were defaming womens rights activists.

We cannot even have a womens political party in Australia (such as in the UK and NZ) due to the current crop of political fools deciding women don't exist, and even if we did exist we cannot have anything just for XX. The Orwellian conundrum being you have to know what a woman is to have the power to decide who can and cannot be one.

The Vic Libs were having a mini civil war recently over how conservative/moderate they should be, because they'd been in the political wilderness so long. This is the context in which these paranoid knee-jerk reactions were made. Pesutto was trying to "de-conservatise" them to recapture mainstream popularity and he thought he had the opportunity to virtue signal by condemning supposed RWNJs. He didn't do his homework and walked into a cow-patty. And kept going...

I agree with your characterisation of him but nevertheless hope they unseat the ALP.

can we have an xx party ? I mean if you can have a trans exclusive group - or maybe women can join up to trans party like they do and dispute tge misogynist bullying on women -

Thanks for the update, Edie. Transactivists, and those who play alongside them, are abhorrent towards women who don't do the same. I'm so glad that Moira has what it takes in time, backbone, and resources to 'slay' those who defamed her. Hopefully, going forward it will stop others' mouths running away with them in the same manner.

Well since tge so called Greenies and Lefties have obliterated bilogical sexed based rights - and thereby the women who need em to help born women and girls and our children stay safe and free of the worst abuses and exploitative conduct from people like 98% born men / EY chromosomed beings... that means we need the protections of sex based rights to trump in law for women and our real historically perpetually required needs being born xx chromosomed - we are women we are not "pisswomen"

When I first saw the LWS event where this happened I immediately knew it was a set up A tactic to distract from the contemptible TRAs who I believe are on the international paramilitary payroll of the most powerful wealthy perverted men on the planet along with their handmaidens and trans maidens Note that their uniforms are identical anywhere in the world they show up to harass and terrorize women who dare to speak about male violence against women privilege and sexual paraphilia My ancestors taught me about covert military operations They served in WWII and continued in foreign service careers from the 40’s through the 70’s in USA South & Latin America Europe Saudi Arabia and Asia
