Beginning at the Begining

Hi, my name is Edie.

Well, my first name is Chris, but I use my middle name Edie for writing and blogging and I got used to it. Edith was my grandmother’s name and it means “prosperity in war”. I’m pretty sure my current involvement in the culture wars will not make me rich, but I hope to have some success in teaching people the origins and problems of the current gender ideology nonsense we are being fed.

I am not as much a gender-critical feminist as a feminist that finds the existing employment of gender ideology dangerous. But we will get to this. I am wanting to gather a community of people of similar mind, internationally but I will be also focusing on the Australian context. I want to start with a doctrine statement of sorts to centre agreement.

I have a lot of opinions about a lot of things but this “community” will centre around the agreement of the following. I’d value feedback to add, subtract, change if anyone has any.

• Humans are sexually dimorphic creatures, male and female. 

• Sex will stay with a person from conception to death.

• Males and females have different propensities to violent and sexual crime. There is no evidence that these propensities alter with a change in gender identity. 

• Gender is a word we use to describe the meanings and stereotypes that cultures place on sex.

• Gender identity is the word we use to describe an inner sense of one’s sex (many people deny that such a feeling exists, that this is a modern cultural and legal invention to de-pathologise gender dysphoria as a variation in human gender expression. Ironically leading to the medicalisation in natural gender non-conformity)

• Gender Identity does not change sex.

• Gender is not a stable concept to encourage children to place identity in.

• Gender identity placed over sex in law will lead to an erosion of women’s rights and safety.

• Gender non-conformity should never be pathologized as a symptom for cultural and medical intervention.

• Gender Dysphoria (GD) is a well-documented serious mental health issue that should be dealt with under the supervision of a medical professional.

• Children cannot be transgender. Gender non-conforming (GNC) children are to be accepted as such. 

• Masculine boys and feminine girls should be free to wear the clothes of their choosing.

• Rigid gender stereotypes encourage healthy GNC girls and boys into harmful paths of surgery, sterility, sexual dysfunction, confusion and loneliness.

• Self ID is a dangerous legal concept that will allow women to become vulnerable to a range of trans-identifying males.

• Sports have to remain sex segregated for fairness. GNC children should be free to play in the team of their sex to encourage gender expression diversity. There is nothing wrong with a footballer in a skirt.

• Gender issues are not “trans” issues, they are human issues.

• The promotion of “gender” as an innate soul is harmful.

My main focus is to oppose the illiberal legislation that is leading to medicalisation of gender non-conformity, the teaching of rubbish to children, the erasure of women, the sexual coercion and gaslighting of women, and a bunch of other things.
