Update - Book Club

Hey! So in my post twitter life I’m having to occupy myself with a level of productivity. The highlight of my week was being on Graham Linehan YouTube program “The Mess We’re In”

I talked about a “book club” that I am planning to get together with Kit Kowalski. Follow Kit on Twitter at @KowalskiKit.

Kit and I have set up a website where we will run the book club from and hopefully make a bit of hub for dissident women and girls fleeing the kind craziness that has become bourgeois feminism. Our site is SheilaShed.com.

For our first time we are just going to have the two of us discussing a second wave feminist text “The Tyranny of Structurelessness”. You can sign up here and also get a link to the text that we are reading.

I am not a keen theoretical feminist so it will be a journey for me as well. Kit is much more schooled in feminist theory, so she can be our teacher together, of course we will invite guests as time goes on to contribute with their own ideas about feminism.

We are not sure where it will go but we will do a text every month and talk about it. Not necessarily a feminist text but we will take everything from a feminist perspective or the perspective of how women can organise for the empowerment and protection of women and girls.

We are going to make the podcasts publicly available so men are welcome to listen but we won’t invite any males to speak or contribute to the discussion. We all know the problem with male feminists so men need to be thankful that we are not making any more of those.

I am also going to try to make more content on my own YouTube channel but I wont be banning the males from that. I’ll try to do an update when I get something published and talk to that, and I’ll be having interesting conversations. Suggestions welcome.
